Position: Technical Superintendent (Tankers)

Job Location: Mumbai

About our Client and the Requirement:
Our Client is a reputed European Ship Management Company. This position has opened up in their Mumbai office as a result of an increase in the fleet size under technical management in India. More positions to open up in the immediate future too.

Desired Candidate profile:
Must be a Chief Engineer with rank experience on Tankers
Minimum 1 year of shore experience as a Technical Superintendent for Tanker fleet
Positive attitude with good interpersonal and management skills

Job Description:
Providing technical support to vessels assigned so as to enable reliable and efficient operations of the vessel
For the vessels assigned under direct charge, the technical superintendent is accountable for the following tasks but not limited to:-
    -  Performing vessel technical inspections and visits, on allocated vessels, as per company Vessel Technical Inspection guidelines
    -  Compliance with HSQEE policies & procedures, and applicable international and national regulations
    -  Maintenance, operational performance, and reliability, of all equipment and machinery on the vessel
    -  Monitoring and managing vessel operating costs within agreed budgets
    -  Effective rectifications/closures to maintenance related nonconformities and deficiencies
    -  Overall performance of the vessel
    -  Formulating long term maintenance plans, and tracking maintenance in accordance with makers’ maintenance schedules and the PMS
    -  Maintaining a file of outstanding maintenance requirements for refit specifications, budget estimates
    -  Planning and managing under the guidance of fleet manager, refits, maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, conversions or modifications
    -  Preparing detailed refit specifications for allocated vessels
    -  Suggesting improvement/changes to procedures & HSQEE manuals where required
    -  Preparing and presenting to the Fleet Manager annual operating budgets
    -  Seeking approval of unbudgeted expenditure from Fleet Manager
